One Final Waltz

Let us join hands, you and I –

Dance one final waltz;

Tomorrow we will have parted ways

So this is our last chance.

.

I know we had our ups and downs –

We’ve hated and we’ve loved;

But I will miss you all the same

In spite of all of that.

.

Who could have said that we’d end this way –

Two fruit of different trees;

And I now regret

Not having tried harder every day.

.

But we learn from our mistakes –

Of those, we’ve made so many;

If we don’t improve at least an ounce,

Then there’s no hope for us.

.

And so, for better or for worse,

Let’s enjoy one final sway;

We can share one last guiltless smile

As our memories trickle away.

.
